My name is James Hill and I am a photographer from Blackpool. I graduated from The University of Central Lancashire in 2021 with a BA in Photography. I am interested in various forms of photography and enjoy creating my own work within the realm of landscape, social documentary and experimental practises. I have enjoyed being creative from a young age, much preferring subjects such as art & IT over science & mathematics. I began to explore my interest in photography during my time at college, finding enjoyment out of creating work and gaining knowledge about software such as Adobe Photoshop & InDesign. I intend to continue to create work and continiously refine my skills in order to be the best photographer I can possibly be.
I am primarily interested in creating photographic work of my surroundings and the issues that affect me and the place that I live. For example, my most recent photomontages were produced with the aim of highlighting how important it is to maintain privacy within domestic spaces. Whilst this work was produced in order to make a statement and force the viewer into questioning an aspect of their everyday life, some of my other work is simply an exploration of my environment through the lens of my camera.
